This angular wall-mounted fitting (known as a "Wandscheibe") is a key component for connecting copper pipes to water or heating installations, enabling a transition from the press-fit system to a standard pipe thread. Made from silicon bronze (or rotguss), this element offers high resistance to corrosion and pressure, which is essential for installations subjected to continuous thermal and hydraulic loads. The product is designed for both concealed and surface mounting, ensuring an aesthetic and functional outlet from the system pipe.

A key feature of this fitting is the presence of SC-Contur (Safe Connect Contour). This is a special profile on the press sleeve that acts as a safeguard against installation errors. If the installer forgets to press the connection, the joint will remain leaky and will be detected during the pressure test—no disassembly or visual inspection of insertion depth is required. This solution significantly speeds up work and eliminates the risk of future failures.

Application and system compatibility

This fitting is dedicated to copper pipes with an outer diameter of 22 mm (DN 15) and features an internal pipe thread connection of 1/2 inch (Rp 1/2). This makes it ideal as an outlet point for sanitary fixtures, thermostatic valves, or heating manifolds.

• Pipe system: Designed exclusively for copper pipes (Cu-DHP) with a diameter of 22 mm.
• Connection type: One side is a press fitting (requiring a Viega press tool), the other is an internal pipe thread Rp 1/2".
• Shape: Angular (90 degrees), allowing the pipe to be routed naturally from the wall toward the end device without additional reducing elbows.
• Application range: Potable water installations, heating circuits (up to 110°C), and industrial installations for media such as compressed air or inert gases.

The required wall hole depth and mounting precision depend on the dimensions of the component itself: the fitting has a total length of 50 mm, with the copper pipe inserting into the sleeve to a working depth of 27 mm. The threaded portion protrudes by 24 mm, facilitating the tightening of the end fixture without the need for additional extensions. The V/SC-Contur press profile requires the use of the appropriate die in the press tool to ensure proper compression of the sealing ring.

Construction and operating conditions

The component is made from silicon bronze or rotguss, guaranteeing durability in harsh environmental conditions. Inside, an EPDM plastic seal is already installed, ensuring a leak-tight connection without the need for additional packing or Teflon tape on the press side—the seal activates automatically upon correct pressing. The surface remains in its raw state (uncoated), which is standard for elements concealed within walls or under plaster; if the fitting is exposed, it should be painted or covered with a decorative cap.

It is important to note operational limitations: the maximum working pressure is 16 bar at 20°C, and the maximum operating temperature depends on the medium—for potable water, the limit is typically 85°C, while for heating installations it can reach up to 110°C. Thanks to optimized flow and precise water channel geometry, the fitting minimizes hydraulic resistance, resulting in stable operation of the entire installation without unnecessary pressure losses. Installation requires the use of a dedicated Viega press tool with the appropriate die for the V/SC-Contur profile—manual tightening does not guarantee leak-tightness or system safety.
