TOPJOB® S Connectors for Hazardous Areas
The WAGO TOPJOB® S feed-through connector is an advanced component for electrical installations, specifically designed for operation in explosive atmospheres. Thanks to ATEX and IECEx certification, it can be used in Ex e II and Ex i zones.
The Push-in CAGE CLAMP® technology enables quick connection of solid conductors with a cross-section of 0.25-4 mm² and stranded conductors 0.25-4 mm². The push-button system allows for easy insertion of conductors without the need for tools.
Electrical Parameters and Safety
The device provides a rated voltage of 550 V for Ex e II applications and a rated current of 22 A. When using jumpers, the current drops to 20 A. Standard IEC/EN parameters are 800 V voltage and 8 kV surge withstand capability. The rated current according to IEC standards is 24 A, and in some configurations even 32 A.
Certifications include UL/CSA standards (600 V / 20 A) and a full range of marine approvals (ABS, DNV GL, Lloyd's Register). The insulating material is high-quality polyamide PA66 with a UL94 V0 flammability class.
Construction and Compatibility
The compact design with dimensions 5.2 × 59.2 × 32.9 mm enables dense packing in distribution boards. The connector is mounted on standard DIN rails 35 × 15 mm or 35 × 7.5 mm, ensuring universal mounting.
The labeling system allows for markings both on the side and in the center of the element.
The test opening enables safe testing of electrical parameters without disconnecting the circuit. The standard conductor stripping length is 10-12 mm, and the design allows for front-side conductor routing.
Regulatory Compliance and Certificates
The product has a full range of certificates for hazardous areas: ATEX (PTB 18 ATEX 1005 U), IECEx (IECEx PTB 18.0012 U), and CCCEx. Additionally, it meets the requirements of EN/IEC standards (60947) and holds UL (UL1059) and CSA (C22.2 No.158) approvals.
Marine certificates enable use in shipboard installations. The component weight is only 6.3 g, facilitating installation in systems with limited load-bearing capacity.
