Tigris system fittings – reliability and durability of connections
Tigris K1 PPSU PN10 GZ 50x6/4" fitting is an element of the Wavin Tigris system, designed to create durable and safe connections in water and heating installations. Made of high-quality polyphenylene sulfone (PPSU), it is characterized by corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and resistance to incrustation. The use of a clamping sleeve made of noble steel further increases the strength and reliability of the connection.
The fitting combines functionality and ease of installation, which is particularly appreciated by installers. It has a tapered BSPT-R (ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1) external gas thread with a diameter of 3/4 inch, which ensures compatibility with a wide range of installation elements. In addition, the presence of ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EDPM) rubber seals guarantees a leak-proof connection.
Design and user features
The fitting has been designed with ease and safety of installation in mind. The control hole allows you to check that the pipe is correctly inserted into the fitting, and the point indentations in the sleeve prevent it from falling out. The leak control function before crimping (DLF) allows you to detect any errors during the pressure test, minimizing the risk of failure. The patented hexagonal shank cross-section ensures a durable connection with minimal clamping force.
Application and compliance with standards
The Tigris K1 fitting is used in central heating installations, domestic hot and cold water installations, and industrial installations. It is compatible with Wavin Tigris PE-Xc/Al/PE-HD and PE-RT/Al/PE-RT pipes, providing a high degree of design and installation freedom. It has a DVGW quality mark for water and a KIWA certificate, confirming its compliance with applicable standards and safety regulations. The maximum working pressure is 10 bar at 20°C and 6 bar at the maximum operating temperature of 95°C. The fitting also has a support collar to increase connection stability.
