Multilayer pipe for heating and water installations

The PE-RT/EVOH/PE-RT Kameleon pipe is a modern solution designed for underfloor heating, radiator heating installations, and domestic hot water supply systems. The pipe's construction, consisting of five layers, combines flexibility, durability, and resistance to high temperatures. The presence of the EVOH barrier effectively protects against oxygen diffusion into the installation, which is particularly important in systems with heat pumps and aluminum radiators. The green color of the pipe facilitates identification and indicates its intended use with environmentally friendly heat sources.

The Kameleon pipe is characterized by its high flexibility, which significantly simplifies installation, especially in complex systems with numerous bends. This minimizes the risk of kinking the pipe and damaging the EVOH layer. Long coils (560 meters) allow reducing waste during the installation of the heating loop and speed up installation work. The pipe is compatible with the Wavin system and dedicated to working with heat pumps, providing them with a longer service life thanks to the increased water capacity in the heating system.

Construction and properties

The five-layer structure of the pipe provides it with unique properties: PE-RT layers provide flexibility and temperature resistance, and the central EVOH layer acts as an effective anti-diffusion barrier. The thermal conductivity of 0.4 W/(m.K) and the coefficient of expansion of 0.025 mm/(m.K) affect the energy efficiency of the installation. The pipe has a DIN-CERTCO certificate and DVGW quality marks for gas and water, confirming its compliance with European safety and quality standards. The pipe wall thickness is 2 mm, and the outer diameter is 17 mm with a nominal diameter of DN 10. The maximum working pressure at 20°C is 10 bar, and the maximum medium temperature for a short time is 95°C – which allows for use in various types of heating installations.

Application and installation

The Kameleon pipe is ideal for underfloor heating installations and low-temperature radiator installations. The possibility of using repair and simple fittings facilitates any modifications or repairs to the installation. During installation, remember to calibrate and bevel the ends of the pipe and follow the guidelines regarding ambient temperature (optimally from 5°C to 25°C). The pipe should be protected from direct sunlight and UV radiation during both storage and operation – prolonged exposure may negatively affect its properties. It is recommended to use mounting clips at intervals of 70-80 cm for securing the pipes, and more frequently on bends to ensure the stability of the system.
