Multilayer PEX/Al/PE pipe for central heating and water installations

Multilayer PEX/Al/PE pipe with thermal insulation is a versatile solution for building water and heating installations. The combination of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX), aluminum, and polyethylene (PE) provides strength, flexibility, and resistance to high temperatures and pressure. This construction minimizes thermal expansion, making installation easier and ensuring system stability. The pipe is particularly recommended for use in central heating systems, hot and cold water installations, and underfloor heating.

Construction and properties

The pipe consists of five layers: an inner layer of PEX-c, an aluminum layer, an outer layer of PE, and 6 mm of thermal insulation. The middle aluminum layer acts as an anti-diffusion barrier, preventing oxygen from entering the installation and limiting heat loss. The PEX-c layer provides flexibility and resistance to high temperatures, while the outer PE layer protects against mechanical damage and external factors. The 6 mm thick thermal insulation further reduces heat loss, increasing the energy efficiency of the system.

The pipe is characterized by high resistance to corrosion, scale formation, and UV radiation (although prolonged exposure to sunlight is not recommended). It has DIN-CERTCO and DVGW certificates for water and gas, as well as a PZH hygiene certificate, confirming its compliance with applicable standards and safety of use. The coefficient of thermal expansion is 0.025 mm/(m.K), and the thermal conductivity (lambda) is 0.4 W/(m.K). The minimum bending radius without tools is 100 mm, and with tools – 80 mm, making it easier to adapt the pipe to complex installation systems.
