Buffer tank with coil Wolf SPU-2-W 500 2483049
Vertical black steel buffer tank with coil for closed systems
The SPU-2-W 500 buffer tank is a vertical vessel made of black steel, intended exclusively for closed and oxygen‑free heating installations. It does not have internal corrosion protection — its durability depends on complete isolation of the circuit from air.
It operates as a storage element in systems with heating boilers or solar installations — the version with a coil enables direct connection of solar collectors.
The capacity is 500 L — the value given in the manufacturer’s trusted technical data (ETIM). Insulation 100 mm thick made of polyurethane foam minimizes heat loss. The insulating jacket can be removed before installation — facilitating transport and delivery to rooms with limited access.
Dimensions with insulation: diameter 850 mm, height 1725 mm. Without insulation: diameter 650 mm, height 1640 mm. The tank alone weighs 113 kg. The transport height (Kippmaß) is 1910 mm with insulation and 1670 mm without — important for delivery and installation planning.
The tank has eight Rp 1½" connections, four Rp ½" connections for thermometers, one Rp 1½" vent connection, and one Rp 1" connection for solar coils. All fittings are standard — no special components required.
Maximum working pressure: 10 bar on the heating circuit side, 3 bar on the solar coil side. Maximum temperature: 110 °C for the main circuit, 95 °C for the solar circuit — values confirmed by online sources and consistent with the manufacturer’s data.
The coil made of smooth pipe has a heat exchange surface of 1.8 m² and a fluid volume of 11 L — enabling efficient heat exchange with solar collectors without additional exchangers. It does not contain an internal electric heater — it is not intended for direct domestic hot water production as a primary source.
The tank complies with DIN 4753 and DIN 12828. Installation, first start‑up and service may be performed only by qualified installers. The warranty period for the tank is five years.
