Wolf SPU-1-200 buffer tank 2483884
Buffer tank Wolf SPU-1-200 is an element designed exclusively for closed heating installations – it is not suitable for drinking water nor for open systems. Made of steel S235Jr, it has an internal wall without anti‑corrosion protection, which is permissible only when it operates as a buffer in a heat‑pump system – air/water or brine/water. The internal surface is not coated with any anti‑corrosion layer because there is no need: it does not come into contact with drinking water or oxygen from the air.
The external plastic jacket in silver is a characteristic Wolf feature – it is not only aesthetic but also provides mechanical and thermal protection for the insulation. This insulation, made of hard polyurethane foam, minimizes heat loss – preparation for operation requires only 1.55 kWh per day, meaning low energy consumption even during prolonged system standby.
It has 5 connections of size Rp 1½", allowing flexible integration with various configurations: it can function as a distribution buffer (trennpuffer), i.e., a hydraulic coupling between the heat source and the heating circuits, or as a series buffer (reihenspeicher), where heat is stored directly after being produced by the pump. In both cases it reduces pump cycling – extending pump life and lowering energy use.
Operating temperature up to 95 °C and maximum pressure 3 bar are sufficient for typical heat‑pump installations – higher values are unnecessary, as these systems do not operate at pressures near 6–10 bar. Height 1140 mm and diameter 610 mm allow the tank to fit in standard technical rooms, and a mass of 48 kg facilitates transport and installation – even with a large capacity it is not cumbersome to handle.
The only additional port is a temperature sensor thread Rp ½", which enables connection of a sensor – without it the heating cycle cannot be effectively controlled. There is no electric heater – this is not a DHW tank, but a buffer for the heating system. No safety valve is supplied – it must be installed separately in accordance with installation standards.
Everything here is simple: steel, insulation, five connections. Nothing more. And that is why it works well.
