Vertical buffer tank made of black steel, intended for closed heating installations

Tank made of black steel, without internal corrosion protection — used exclusively in closed, oxygen‑free heating systems. It is not intended for open installations nor for direct heating of DHW without an additional heat exchanger.

Capacity: 500 L. Internet sources list 490 L — the difference likely results from rounding or net‑volume measurement, but the database (ETIM) data is authoritative and specifies 500 L.

100 mm thick polyurethane foam insulation is mounted on an external plastic jacket that can be removed before installation. This facilitates transport and insertion of the tank through narrow spaces — after positioning, the jacket is re‑installed. Standby heat loss is 2.03 kWh per day — confirmed by multiple online sources.

It has 8 1½" threaded connections that allow connection of the heat‑source circuit, heating circuit and circulation. Additionally: 4 ½" thermometer ports and one 1½" vent (bleed) opening. All are built into the wall — no extra piping required.

Dimensions: diameter 850 mm (with insulation), height 1725 mm. Weight: 87 kg. Overall length for horizontal transport: 1910 mm — this must be taken into account for delivery and installation.

The tank complies with DIN 4753 for heating systems in accordance with DIN 12828 — confirming its conformity with European installation standards.

This is not the coil model (SPU-W). Solar collectors cannot be connected directly to the tank interior — only via a separate heat exchanger. There is no built‑in electric heater, safety valve or mixing thermostat — these components must be supplied externally if required in the system.
