Digital asymmetry and symmetrical voltage drop sensor and phase failure CAM-11 EXT10000268
Intelligent protection for three-phase installations
The CAM-11 phase failure and asymmetry sensor is a reliable device designed to protect three-phase circuits from the effects of abnormal power supply voltage. It ensures the safe operation of connected devices, such as motors, protecting them from damage caused by phase failure or voltage asymmetry. Its design and functionality make it an ideal solution for both professional installers and end-users who care about power supply stability.
Functionality and application
The CAM-11 sensor monitors the voltage in a three-phase network, reacting to two key problems:
- Voltage asymmetry: The device detects voltage differences between phases, which can lead to overheating of motors and other loads. The factory-set asymmetry threshold is 55V, ensuring a quick response to potential hazards.
- Phase failure: In the event of a voltage loss in one of the phases, the sensor immediately disconnects the circuit, preventing serious equipment damage.
- Symmetrical voltage drop: Additionally, CAM-11 protects against situations where the voltage on all phases drops below 150V, which may be caused by network overload or other problems.
Thanks to this, the sensor finds application in a wide range of electrical installations:
- Protection of electric motors in industry and construction.
- Protection of sensitive electronic devices requiring a stable power supply.
- Home installations powering high-power devices (e.g., heat pumps).
- Automation and control systems.
Design and product features
CAM-11 stands out with its advanced digital True RMS measurement technology, which guarantees high detection accuracy even with distorted waveforms – particularly important in installations with inverters. A 4-second disconnection delay and voltage hysteresis minimize the risk of false alarms caused by short-term voltage fluctuations. The device is powered from any phase, which simplifies installation and ensures independence from the presence of voltage on all phases. Mounting is on a standard DIN rail (35mm), and the compact dimensions (90x35x65mm) allow for easy adaptation to the existing switchgear. It has an NO/NC switching contact with a capacity of 16A/250V AC1 4000VA, which allows for controlling various protective circuits.
