Surge arrester OVR 40-275 TYPE 2 C, without insert, 1-pole 2CTB803871R2300
Surge protection for your installation
This single-pole Type 2 surge protector is a key element in protecting your electrical installation from the effects of sudden voltage increases. Designed for mounting on a TH35 rail, it occupies only one module, making it easy to integrate with existing distribution boards. Its task is to protect connected devices, such as electronic equipment and lighting, from damage caused by surges.
Functionality and application
The OVR 40-275 TYPE 2 C surge arrester effectively suppresses transient overvoltages that can occur as a result of lightning strikes or switching on/off large energy consumers. Characteristic C allows it to react more slowly to short current surges, therefore it tolerates well the starting of devices with a motor. Optical indication of operation informs about the need to replace the arrester after a strong surge. The rated discharge current of 20 kA provides effective protection under typical operating conditions.
- Type 2 protection: Provides additional protection after a Type 1 arrester (installed in the main connection), protecting sensitive devices inside the building.
- Universality: Suitable for protecting circuits with a rated voltage of 230 V.
- High durability: Short-circuit strength at 100 kA guarantees reliable operation even in the event of serious disturbances.
- Safety: Integrated short-circuit protection up to 125 A (selective for gG fuse) minimizes the risk of damage and fire.
- Mounting: Mounting on TH35 rail – a standard solution that facilitates installation and replacement.
- Wire cross-sections: Supports wires with a cross-section of up to 25 mm² (single-/multi-strand) and 16 mm² (flexible).
Remember that electrical work should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. Devices with a supply voltage > 380V/400V require an electrical connection and may only be connected by a specialist company.
