Reliable protection of electrical installations – S200 series circuit breaker
This two-pole circuit breaker with K characteristic is a key element of every safe electrical installation. It provides effective protection against overloads and short circuits, protecting both devices and the installation itself. Manufactured by the renowned ABB, it guarantees high quality and reliable operation.
This circuit breaker, with a rated current of 3A and a short-circuit interrupting capacity of up to 6kA, is ideal for protecting circuits with moderate loads. The K characteristic means delayed tripping, which is particularly important for devices with motors or other elements generating high starting currents – this avoids unnecessary tripping of the protection during normal operation.
Construction and application
The S202-K3 circuit breaker occupies two modules on a DIN rail, making it easy to install in electrical distribution boards. Its mounting depth is 69 mm. Designed to operate in temperatures from -25°C to 55°C, it will perform well in various environmental conditions. The ability to connect wires with a cross-section from 0.75 mm² to 35 mm² (solid) or 0.75 mm² to 25 mm² (stranded) provides flexibility when selecting supply wires.
The rated short-circuit interrupting capacity (Icn) is 6kA at 400V, and the Icu capacity according to IEC 60947-2 is as high as 10kA at 400V and 20kA at 230V – this confirms the high level of safety offered by this circuit breaker. The energy limitation class is 3, and the surge category is III, indicating its suitability for installations with increased requirements for overvoltage protection. The IP20 degree of protection provides protection against accidental contact.
- Overload protection: Delayed thermal mechanism protects against prolonged exceeding of the permissible current.
- Short-circuit protection: Magnetic mechanism reacts immediately to sudden current surges, cutting off the power and preventing damage.
- Versatility: Suitable for protecting various electrical circuits in residential and commercial buildings.
- Easy installation: Compact dimensions and DIN rail mounting simplify installation and maintenance.
- High quality: Product from a renowned company ABB guarantees reliable operation and long life.
- Expandability: Compatible with additional accessories to increase the functionality of the protection system.
