Overcurrent switch – reliable protection of electrical installations
This two-pole overcurrent switch with Z characteristic is a key element of every safe electrical installation. Designed to protect circuits against overloads and short circuits, it ensures reliable operation in both residential and commercial buildings. The Z characteristic makes it particularly recommended for protecting circuits with devices with high inrush current, such as motors or transformers. It reacts more slowly to short-term current surges, which prevents unnecessary tripping of the circuit during startup of these devices.
Functionality and technical parameters
This switch is characterized by a rated current of 2A and a breaking capacity of up to 6kA at 400V AC. Compliance with IEC/EN 60898-1 and IEC/EN 60947-2 standards guarantees its safety and reliability. Mounting on a TH35 rail facilitates installation and integration with existing electrical infrastructure. A width of 2 modules allows for efficient use of space in the switchgear cabinet. In addition, high resistance to environmental conditions (operating temperature from -25°C to 55°C) ensures its long-lasting and stable operation.
Construction and application
The switch is made of high-quality materials, which guarantees its durability and resistance to mechanical damage. The IP20 degree of protection provides protection against accidental contact. The cross-section of the connecting wires (0.75 mm² - 35 mm² for solid wires and 0.75 mm² - 25 mm² for stranded wires) allows connection of a wide range of wires of different thicknesses. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity Icn is 6kA at 400V, and Icu at 230V is as much as 20kA, which demonstrates a high level of safety offered by this device. This switch is used to protect various types of electrical circuits, including lighting, socket outlets and electrical devices with lower power.
