Reliable protection of electrical installations – ABB S803S-C16 circuit breaker
This three-pole circuit breaker from ABB's S800S series is a key element of every safe and reliable electrical installation. Designed to protect circuits against overloads and short circuits, it provides effective protection for wires and electrical devices. Characteristic C makes it ideal for circuits with devices generating surge currents, such as motors or transformers.
This circuit breaker is characterized by a high short-circuit breaking capacity – up to 50 kA at 230/400 V, which guarantees a quick and safe response in the event of a failure. The rated current of 16 A allows for the protection of a wide range of circuits in residential and commercial buildings. DIN rail mounting simplifies installation and integration with existing systems.
- High short-circuit breaking capacity: 50 kA at 230/400 V – fast reaction and minimization of damage.
- Characteristic C: ideal for circuits with devices generating surge currents (motors, transformers).
- Wide operating temperature range: from -25°C to 60°C – possibility of use in various environmental conditions.
- Expandability: compatible with additional ABB accessories, allowing customization to individual needs.
- Safety confirmed by standards: compliance with IEC/EN 60947-2 ensures a high level of safety and reliability.
The S803S-C16 circuit breaker has a protection degree of IP20, which means protection against touching with fingers and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. The width of 4.5 modules allows for efficient use of space in the switchgear cabinet. The cross-section of multi-wire connected conductors is from 0 to 50 mm², and single-wire conductors from 0 to 70 mm², which provides great flexibility in the selection of conductors. Power losses are 9.3 W, which affects the energy efficiency of the installation. Overvoltage category IV provides resistance to atmospheric and switching surges.
