S202-C2 Overcurrent circuit breaker 2CDS252001R0024
Compact circuit breaker – reliable installation protection
This two-pole circuit breaker from the S200C series by ABB is a key element ensuring safety in electrical installations. Designed to protect against overloads and short circuits, it performs well in both residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Its compact size (only 2 module widths) makes it easy to install even in crowded switchboards.
Functionality and technical parameters
The S202-C2 circuit breaker is characterized by a C characteristic, which means it is ideal for circuits with devices generating inrush currents, such as motors or transformers. This allows you to avoid unnecessary tripping of the circuit breaker when starting these devices, while still providing effective protection in the event of a real overload or short circuit. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) is 20 kA at 230 V and 10 kA at 400 V, and the Icn capacity according to EN 60898 is 6 kA for both voltages. The rated current of this model is 2 A.
- Provides effective protection of electrical circuits against overloads and short circuits.
- The C characteristic makes it particularly well suited for circuits with devices with high starting currents.
- Compact design – occupies only 2 modules on the TH rail – makes it easy to install in tight switchboards.
- Universal application in TN and IT installations.
- Wide operating temperature range (-25°C to +55°C) guarantees reliable operation in various conditions.
- Accepts solid conductors with a cross-section from 0.75 mm² to 35 mm² and stranded conductors from 0.75 mm² to 25 mm².
Installation and compliance with standards
The installation of the circuit breaker is simple and intuitive – it is done on a standard TH35 rail. It meets the requirements of IEC/EN 60898-1 and IEC/EN 60947-2 standards, which guarantees its safety and reliability. The IP20 degree of protection provides protection against accidental contact, but does not protect against the effects of water or dust – therefore, it should be mounted in dry and closed rooms. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 440V, and the rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp is as high as 4kV, which proves its high resistance to overvoltage.
