Softstart PSR25-600-11 is a compact device used for smooth starting and stopping of three-phase motors. Its main task is to limit inrush currents, which translates to reduced load on the power supply network and extended lifespan of connected devices. This device finds application in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications where limiting current surges during motor start-up is critical.

Application and functionality

Softstart PSR25-600-11 is particularly useful in situations where there are frequent motor starts, e.g. in pumps, fans, compressors or conveyors. Smooth starting minimizes mechanical stress on clutches, gearboxes and other drive elements, which increases their reliability. The built-in bypass contactor ensures efficient operation of the device after the start-up process is completed, minimizing energy losses. This solution makes it possible to reduce operating costs and improve the stability of the entire installation.

Construction and parameters

The device is characterized by a wide range of supply voltages (208…600 V AC) and the ability to control voltage with both AC (24V) and DC (24V). It is designed to work with motors with a power of up to 11 kW at 400V and 5.5kW at 230V. The rated operating current of the device is 25A at an ambient temperature of 40°C. Compact dimensions allow for easy mounting in limited spaces – the device has a protection class of IP20. It should be remembered that the soft starter does not have a built-in motor overload protection, therefore it is necessary to use additional protection in the installation. The device is characterized by an adjustable tripping class, which allows you to adapt the operating characteristics to the specific requirements of the application. In addition, PSR soft starters can be used in conjunction with ABB manual motor starters (MMS), which facilitates dedicated mechanical connection sets.
