Electrofusion socket – reliable connections in PE networks
The electrofusion socket, made of high-density polyethylene (PE100), is a key element for joining polyethylene pipes in water supply, gas and sewage systems. The fitting is designed for electrofusion welding, ensuring a durable and tight connection. It is compatible with pipes with different SDR ratios – 7.4, 11, 13.6 and 17, which increases its versatility on the construction site.
Construction and application
The fitting is equipped with a heating coil covered with a layer of polyethylene, which ensures even heating during welding. The label on the socket contains a number of information to facilitate the connection process and quality control: a unique barcode for welding machine scanners, markings indicating the correctness of the weld, information about the type of fitting and diameter, the production batch identification number and the permissible working pressure for water and gas. This allows both installers and end-users to be sure of the correct connection.
- Versatility: The ability to connect pipes with different SDR values (7.4, 11, 13.6 and 17) allows for flexible adaptation to existing infrastructure.
- Safety: Meets the requirements of PN-EN 1555 and PN-EN 12201 standards, guaranteeing safety of use.
- Quality control: A label with a barcode, weld markings and technical parameters information facilitates connection quality control.
- Durability: Made of high-quality PE100 polyethylene ensures long-term reliability in various operating conditions.
- Wide application: Designed for water supply, gas and sewage networks.
Operating parameters
The socket allows for safe operation of the installation under different working pressures depending on the SDR value. For SDR 11, the maximum pressure for water is 16 bar, and for gas – 10 bar. For SDR 17, respectively: water – 10 bar and gas – 6 bar. It is important to maintain consistency between the SDR value of the pipe and the socket to ensure optimal connection strength. Using the appropriate electrofusion socket is a guarantee of tightness and safety of the installation for many years of use.
