Aerial disconnect-grounding switch – reliable protection for power lines
This three-pole aerial disconnect-grounding switch, type OUNp III SA 24/4, manufactured by ALPAR, is a key element of power infrastructure. It is used to safely disconnect and ground overhead lines, providing protection for both installers during maintenance work and end-users in the event of a failure. The device's design allows for the simultaneous closing and opening of all poles, which significantly speeds up and simplifies service work.
Construction and application
This disconnect switch is designed for direct mounting on the pole base. Its construction is based on two support insulators per pole – one attached to the base (frame) and the other to the bearing movable beam. This construction guarantees stability and precision of operation. The use of composite-silicone insulators provides high resistance to weather conditions and long-term reliability.
The current path of each pole consists of main contacts made of copper flat bar, protected against corrosion by tinning (optional silver plating). The movable contacts, profiled to ensure self-alignment and a large contact surface, guarantee a reliable electrical connection. Movable joints with current clamps (standard up to 95 mm², optional 120 mm²) prevent damage to the power supply cables during operation. Connection terminals are connected to the main contacts with flexible copper connectors, optimizing current flow.
Advantages and benefits
- Common drive: Simultaneous closing and opening of all poles – saves time and increases safety during service work.
- Durable construction: Frame made of closed profiles and cold-formed sections, protected with a galvanized coating by immersion method – corrosion resistance and long-term operation.
- Flexible connections: Copper flexible connectors connecting the connection terminals to the main contacts – optimizes current flow and minimizes energy losses.
- Cable safety: Movable joints with current clamps protect power supply cables from mechanical damage.
- Compatibility: Possibility of manual (NRA(u)) or motor control (NEA) – flexibility depending on the installation needs.
- Composite-silicone insulators: Provide high electrical insulation and resistance to weather conditions.
