Air disconnect switch – reliable protection for power lines

The ONM III SA 24/4S air disconnect switch is a three-pole device designed for the safe switching and isolation of circuits in overhead lines with a voltage of 24 kV. The design based on a common base and drive for all poles ensures synchronization of operations, which is crucial for the safety of both the installer and the end user. This device, manufactured by ALPAR, is widely used in electricity distribution networks.

Construction and application

The disconnect switch is built on two support insulators for each pole – one attached to the base, the other to the bearing movable beam. This construction guarantees simultaneous closing and opening of all poles, minimizing the risk of incorrect operation and ensuring consistent device performance. Made of closed profiles and cold-formed sections, with a zinc coating protecting against corrosion, the disconnect switch is characterized by durability and resistance to atmospheric conditions. It is designed for direct mounting on the pole bracket.

The use of silicone insulators (marked with "S" in the name) ensures high mechanical and electrical strength and resistance to external factors such as pollution and moisture. This ensures that the disconnect switch retains its properties for a long time, minimizing the need for maintenance. Current clamps allow connection of a cable or wire with a cross-section of up to 95 mm² (optionally 120 mm²), and a flexible copper connector ensures optimal current flow.
