The UP-EKO rod earth electrode is not sharpened, so it requires a tip or the use of a CFI120 rod as the first rod. The segments are connected by setting them in a hole on a wedge mandrel and striking with a hand or power hammer. As a result of the impact force, the splines cut into the socket, ensuring a firm mechanical and tight connection of the segments.
