Heat exchanger for heat pumps – efficiency and reliability

PLEX 310-60 is a plate heat exchanger dedicated to working with heat pumps with a power of 8-10 kW, using energy from the ground. Its construction has been optimized for efficient heat transfer, which translates to higher efficiency of the entire heating system. Made of stainless steel, it guarantees long-lasting and trouble-free operation even in difficult conditions.

This exchanger is particularly recommended for installations using groundwater as an energy source. Its compact dimensions (360 mm wide, 209 mm high and 112 mm deep) make it easy to install in a limited space. PLEX 310-60 is characterized by high efficiency – the flow rate of the primary circuit is 11 m³/h, and the secondary circuit 1 m³/h. The maximum flow temperature is as high as 185°C, which ensures stable operation of the system even with high heat demand.

Construction and application

The PLEX 310-60 heat exchanger consists of 60 plates made of stainless steel (SS 2343), brazed to ensure tightness and durability of the connections. Insulation made of polyurethane foam (corresponding to approx. 70 mm of mineral wool) covered with ABS minimizes heat loss and protects against condensation. The main and secondary circuit connections are finished with an external thread with a nominal diameter of 1 inch (25 mm), which facilitates integration with the existing installation. The connection spacing is 250 mm.

This model of heat exchanger is primarily dedicated to working with NIBE F1145, F1245, F1145 PC, F1245PC and F1345 heat pumps, but thanks to standard connections it can be used with other devices with similar parameters. Its application allows for optimization of the heat pump operation, increased heating efficiency and reduced operating costs of the heating system. The maximum differential pressure at a temperature of 20°C is 3 bar. The heat exchanger power is as high as 43 kW, making it an ideal solution for medium-sized houses requiring efficient heating.
