Universal control cable for automation and electrical installations

This shielded BiT 500 control cable is a solid solution for transmitting control and signaling signals in industrial installations, public buildings and homes. It is suitable for both new installations and for the modernization of existing systems. The construction with a shielding braid minimizes electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.

Construction and application

The cable consists of 12 copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², insulated with PVC. The conductors are numbered for easy identification during assembly and servicing. The screen made of tinned copper braids (with a coverage density of 85%) protects against the influence of external interference. The whole is surrounded by a durable PVC coating, resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage. The cable is intended for use in dry rooms, and its permissible operating temperature range is from -40°C to +80°C. It can be used in fixed (minimum bending radius 50 mm) and mobile installations (minimum bending radius 100 mm). It is oil-resistant according to IEC 60811-404.

The BiT 500 cable is characterized by a conductor resistance of 39 Ω/km at 20°C. Its approximate outer diameter is 10 mm, and its weight is about 155 g/m. The reaction to fire class according to EN 13501-6 is Eca – this means limited flammability and smoke emission of the material. The cable does not contain halogens (according to IEC 60754-1), which increases safety in case of fire. It does not have a protective barrier or a common screen, apart from the aforementioned braid. The color of the coating/insulation is gray for easy identification in cable bundles.
