Shielded control cable – reliability and safety in every circuit
BiT 500 (St) CH 21x1.0 control cable is an advanced solution dedicated to control installations where reliability, safety and resistance to interference are crucial. Its construction with multiple cores, shielding and the use of halogen-free materials make it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users looking for high-quality cables.
Construction and properties
This flexible cable is characterized by a construction that provides high flexibility and ease of installation. It has 21 cores with a cross-section of 1.0 mm², made of copper, which guarantees good electrical conductivity. The cores are numbered for easy identification, and the entire cable is surrounded by a shield in the form of a metallized foil and copper braid – this effectively minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference on the signal. Additionally, the use of halogen-free materials increases the safety of use in the event of a fire, reducing the emission of toxic gases. The cable meets IEC 60332-3-24 (cat. C) and IEC 60332-1-2 standards, confirming its fire resistance.
Applications and benefits
BiT 500 (St) CH 21x1.0 cable finds wide application in:
- Control installations: ideal for transmitting control signals in public buildings, industry or commercial facilities.
- Automation systems: provides reliable connections in building and industrial automation systems.
- Machines and equipment: perfectly suited for powering and controlling various types of mechanical devices.
- Where interference protection is required: shielding protects against the influence of external sources of interference, ensuring stable device operation.
- Internal and external installations: the cable is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors (with appropriate protection).
It is worth paying attention to a few key advantages:
- High flexibility: facilitates routing cables in tight spaces and complex installations.
- Effective shielding: minimizes the risk of electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Halogen-free: increases fire safety by reducing the emission of toxic gases during combustion.
- Durable construction: ensures long life and reliable operation in various operating conditions.
- Numbered cores: facilitate the identification of individual wires during assembly and servicing.
- Wide temperature range: the permissible ambient temperature of the cable after installation is from -40°C to +80°C, allowing it to be used in difficult environmental conditions.
Additionally, the cable is characterized by low smoke emission (according to IEC 61034-2) and a fire reaction class of Dca (EN 13501-6), which further increases the safety level of the installation. The minimum bending radius for mobile installations is 145 mm and for fixed installations 72.5 mm, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces. The core resistance at 20°C is 19.5 Ω/km, which ensures efficient power transmission.
