Mining Signal Cable – Reliability in Harsh Conditions

The YnHKGSLY 0.6/1 kV cable is a robust solution for signal transmission in demanding mining environments. The cable’s construction, featuring copper conductors with a cross-section of 1.5 mm², ensures stable connections and high resistance to mechanical damage. The use of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for both insulation and sheathing guarantees protection against moisture and external environmental factors.

Construction and Properties

The cable consists of 11 signal conductors plus one additional grounding conductor, totaling 12 conductors. Each conductor is made of copper, ensuring excellent electrical conductivity and flexibility. The conductors are insulated with PVC, and the entire cable is shielded with a braided screen that minimizes electromagnetic interference and ensures stable signal transmission. Additionally, the cable features a yellow outer PVC sheath for easy identification. The conductor class 5 (multi-wire flexible) facilitates installation and routing even in confined spaces.

Applications and Safety

The YnHKGSLY cable is primarily used in mining applications but is also suitable for other industrial environments requiring high resistance to mechanical damage and environmental exposure. Thanks to its shielding, the cable effectively protects against interference, which is critical for control and monitoring systems. It complies with fire resistance requirements according to IEC 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-24 (Category C), enhancing safety in potentially hazardous environments. The permitted operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C allows use across a wide range of climatic conditions. The minimum bending radius of 191 mm ensures ease of installation.
