Mining Signal Cable with Individual Shields

This cable is designed for use in harsh mining environments where reliability, resistance to mechanical damage, and signal stability are critical. It is engineered for control and signaling applications in both surface and underground power installations, where electromagnetic interference and fire risk are constant concerns.

Each of the 9 working cores and one protective core has a cross-section of 1.5 mm² and is insulated with special PVC resistant to temperatures ranging from -40°C to +70°C. The insulation not only prevents short circuits but also maintains electrical stability even under significant temperature fluctuations. The cores are made of Class 5 stranded copper, providing high flexibility and resistance to vibration—essential for installation in confined spaces or where the cable is frequently moved.

Shielding is not an add-on—it’s fundamental. Each core is individually wrapped with a braid of tinned copper wires, effectively eliminating interference between conductors. This ensures that control signals are not disrupted by adjacent circuits, allowing sensors and relays to operate precisely—without false activations or signal loss.

The outer sheath is made of flame-retardant PVC compliant with PN-EN 60332-1-2 (single cable) and PN-EN 60332-3-24 (Category C – cable bundle). This means that even in the event of fire, the cable does not propagate flames—meeting legal requirements for installations in explosive hazard zones. The yellow color (for 0.6/1 kV voltage rating) facilitates easy identification within installations.

Installation is simpler than it appears: the minimum bending radius is 10x the cable diameter—just use appropriate tools and care. The cable does not need to be installed at temperatures below -5°C, but once installed, it operates reliably even in freezing corridors.

Compliant with RoHS 2015/863/EU and CPR 305/2011, meaning it meets European Union environmental and construction regulations. It contains no hazardous substances, and its parameters are verified by manufacturer testing.

For the installer: easy to route, does not “pull” during installation, and the shielding reduces the need for additional filters or insulation.
