Mining Signal Cable – Reliability and Safety in Harsh Conditions

This mining signal cable YnHKGSY 0.6/1 kV is designed for demanding operating conditions in the mining industry. It features high mechanical and chemical resistance and ensures effective protection against interference. This cable is an ideal solution for powering and controlling control, safety, and instrumentation equipment in open-pit, borehole, and non-methane underground mines.

The cable is suitable for use in intrinsically safe circuits in mining facilities, both open-pit and underground (Class "A" hazard of coal dust explosion). Thanks to the use of solid copper conductors (Class 1, per PN-EN 60228) and PVC insulation and sheath, the cable meets stringent safety standards. Additionally, individual shielding on each conductor minimizes the risk of signal interference.

Construction and Specifications

The YnHKGSY cable features a robust construction. It contains 10 cores: nine working cores with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² and one protective core of the same cross-section. The PVC insulation and sheath provide resistance to abrasion, moisture, and chemical agents typical of mining environments. The test voltage of the cable is 3.5 kV for a rated voltage of 0.6/1 kV. The minimum bending radius is 10 times the outer diameter.

This cable complies with EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-24 / EN 60332-3-24 (flame propagation resistance of the sheath). It also meets the requirements of RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU and LVD Directive 2014/35/EU, guaranteeing safety and reliable operation in critical applications.
