Mining Signal Cable – Reliability and Safety in Harsh Conditions
This multi-core signal cable, designed for use in the mining industry, is designed to ensure safe and reliable signal transmission in demanding environments. The cable construction, with PVC insulation and coating, guarantees resistance to mechanical damage and external factors. In addition, the presence of individual screens on each core minimizes the risk of interference and ensures high signal quality.
This cable is used in powering and controlling control, safety and control devices in mines. It is particularly recommended for intrinsically safe circuits in underground mining plants classified as hazard class "A" for coal dust explosion. Therefore, it is a key element of safety and automation systems in mining.
Construction and properties
The YnHKGSY 0.6/1kV cable is characterized by a solid construction. Copper cores made of class 1 wire (according to PN-EN 60228) ensure good flexibility and durability of connections. PVC insulation and an outer coating of the same material protect the cores from moisture, chemicals and mechanical damage. Individual screens on the cores reduce electromagnetic interference, which is particularly important in industrial environments exposed to strong electromagnetic fields. The test voltage of the cable is 3.5kV for a rated voltage of 0.6/1kV, which confirms its high quality and safety of use.
The minimum bending radius of the cable is 10x its outer diameter, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces. The cable meets the requirements of EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-24 / EN 60332-3-24 regarding the non-flammability of the coating. This is important from the point of view of fire safety in a mining environment.
This cable is available in various configurations of number of cores and cross-sections. The 36x1.5+1.5 version means a cable with 36 working cores with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² and one protective core with the same cross-section. This configuration works perfectly in systems controlling complex machines or extensive mining installations requiring a large number of control signals.
It is important to choose the core cross-section appropriately to the current load and cable length to avoid excessive voltage drop and ensure proper operation of devices connected to the cable. Thanks to its construction, this cable is also resistant to frequent bending and twisting, which is typical for working in mining conditions.
