Mining signal cable – reliability and safety in harsh conditions
This mining signal cable, designated YnHKGSY 0.6/1kV, is a specialized solution designed to operate in the demanding conditions of the mining industry. The cable's construction is designed to ensure reliable transmission of control and power signals in environments exposed to mechanical damage, moisture, and fire hazard. This cable is used both in surface and underground mining.
Construction and properties
The YnHKGSY cable is distinguished by its solid construction. It has multi-wire copper conductors class 5 according to PN-EN 60228, which ensures flexibility and resistance to material fatigue. Each conductor is individually shielded with a braid of tinned copper wires, minimizing electromagnetic interference and ensuring precise signal transmission. The insulation made of special PVC guarantees high electrical and mechanical resistance. The outer sheath made of flame-retardant PVC further increases safety by limiting the spread of fire in the event of a failure. The oxygen index of the sheath exceeds 29, which confirms its flame-retardant properties.
The cable is available in a 4x1.5+1.5 mm² configuration, which means four working conductors with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² and one protective conductor with a cross-section of 1.5 mm². This configuration provides adequate current-carrying capacity and safety. The test voltage of the cable is 2.0 kV for the 300/500V version and 3.5 kV for the 0.6/1kV version – which proves high insulation and resistance to breakdown. The minimum bending radius is 10x the cable diameter, which facilitates installation even in tight spaces.

The YnHKGSY cable is ideal for use in:
- Open-pit and borehole mining plants (outside explosion-proof zones).
- Underground non-methane mining plants.

The operating temperature of the cable is in the range of -40°C to +70°C, and the minimum permissible laying temperature is -5°C – which allows it to be operated even in extreme climatic conditions.
