Mining signal cable – reliability and safety in harsh conditions
This mining signal cable, designated YnHKGSY 0.6/1kV, is a specialized solution designed to operate in the demanding conditions of mining. Designed for reliable transmission of control and power signals, it meets the stringent safety standards applicable in mines. This cable is used both in open-pit mines and underground workings, where resistance to mechanical damage and external factors is crucial.
The cable is characterized by a construction that provides high flexibility and ease of installation. Made of multi-wire copper conductors class 5 (according to PNEN 60228), insulated with special PVC, it provides good conductivity and long-term operation. Each core has an individual screen of tinned copper wires, which minimizes electromagnetic interference and ensures stable signal transmission. The outer jacket made of special PVC with increased resistance to flame propagation (compliant with PN-EN 60332-1 and PN-EN 60332-3-24) guarantees safety in the event of a fire. This means the cable meets the requirements for flame retardancy and limitation of toxic gas emissions during combustion.
The cable construction includes twisted cores, which further increases its flexibility and facilitates laying in tight spaces. The color of the outer jacket – yellow for 0.6/1kV voltage – facilitates cable identification during installation and maintenance. The test voltage is 3.5 kV for 0.6/1kV cables and 2.0 kV for 300/500V cables. The minimum bending radius is 10x the cable diameter, allowing it to be adapted to the specifics of the installation. Designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to +70°C and laying from -5°C.
YnHKGSY cables are ideal for powering control devices, safety systems and controlling technological processes in mining plants. They can be used both in areas with a risk of methane explosion (degrees "a", "b" or "c") and in workings threatened by coal dust explosion (class "A" or "B"). They will also work in intrinsically safe circuits, ensuring safe operation of electrical equipment in potentially hazardous environments.
