Mining signal cable – reliability and safety in harsh conditions

YnHKGSY 0.6/1kV cable is a specialized cable designed for use in the mining industry. It provides reliable transmission of control and power signals in demanding environments, characterized by potential mechanical hazards and the presence of methane gases (in the case of applications in methane mines). The cable's construction, including individual shielding on the cores and a flame-retardant jacket, guarantees safety and minimizes the risk of failure.

Construction and application

This cable is designed for operation in surface and borehole mining plants (outside explosion hazard zones) and in underground non-methane mining plants. It is also suitable for intrinsically safe circuits in borehole and surface mines, as well as in underground mines classified as "A" dust explosion hazard class. It is used to power and control control, safety and control devices.

The cable construction includes:

• Cores: single-wire copper class 1 according to PN-EN 60228, providing good electrical conductivity.
• Insulation: made of special PVC, resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage.
• Shielding: individual on each core, minimizing electromagnetic interference and ensuring precise signal transmission.
• Jacket: made of flame-retardant PVC, increasing fire resistance and flame propagation (meets EN 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-24 / EN 60332-3-24 standards).

Operating parameters and properties

The YnHKGSY cable is characterized by a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +70°C and a minimum installation temperature of -5°C. The test voltage is 2.0kV for the 300/500V version and 3.5kV for the 0.6/1kV version. The minimum bending radius is 10xØ cable. Thanks to this, the cable retains its properties even in the extreme conditions prevailing in mining.

It is worth noting the core cross-section of 1 mm² and the number of cores – as many as 7 (including a protective core). This allows for flexible adaptation of the cable to specific installation needs.
