Mining Signal Cable – Reliability and Safety in Harsh Conditions
The YnHKGSY cable is a specialized cable designed for use in mining, providing safe and stable connections in demanding environments. The cable's construction, with shielded cores and a durable PVC coating, guarantees resistance to mechanical damage and external factors. It is a key solution for power, control, safety and steering devices in open-pit, borehole and underground mines.
Construction and Properties
The YnHKGSY cable is characterized by a solid construction, designed with the specific requirements of mining in mind. Multi-wire copper conductors class 5 (according to PNEN 60228) provide good flexibility and conductivity. Each core is individually shielded with a braid of tinned copper wires, which minimizes electromagnetic interference and ensures stable signal transmission. The insulation is made of special PVC and the outer coating is made of flame-retardant PVC (meeting the standards PN-EN 60332-1 and PN-EN 60332-3-24, IEC 60332-3 category C) increases safety by limiting the spread of fire. The cable is available in gray (for 300/500V voltage) or yellow (for 0.6/1kV voltage).
Application and Parameters
This cable is used to power and control devices in mining - both in areas without explosion hazard and in zones threatened by methane (degree "a", "b" or "c") and workings threatened by coal dust explosion (class "A" or "B"). It is designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to 70°C (minimum laying temperature -5°C), and its operating voltage is 300/500V or 0.6/1kV. The test voltage is 2.0 kV for the 300/500V version and 3.5 kV for the 0.6/1kV version. The minimum bending radius is 10 x cable diameter.
In the presented version, the cable has 4 cores, each with a cross-section of 1.5 mm². The core marking is natural or black with digital printing, and there is also a yellow-green wire in the outer layer - a standard solution that facilitates identification.
