Connection tapping saddle for PVC/PE pipes – a reliable connection to the water supply network
This tapping saddle, made of grey cast iron GJL, is the optimal solution for connecting domestic installations to a water supply network made of PVC or PE pipes. Its design allows drilling into the pipeline even while it is in operation, minimizing the need to interrupt the water supply. This saves time and convenience for both the installer and the end user.
Construction and application
The tapping saddle with a nominal diameter of DN90/50 is designed for making connections with a diameter of 90 mm to pipes with a diameter of 50 mm. Made of high-quality grey cast iron (GJL), it ensures durability and corrosion resistance. This is particularly important in the case of underground installations, where it is exposed to the action of moisture and chemicals contained in the soil. The tapping saddle allows for precise and tight connection, eliminating the risk of leaks and ensuring long-term use.
- Durable material: Grey cast iron GJL guarantees resistance to mechanical damage and corrosion.
- Versatility: Designed for PVC and PE pipes, which increases its range of applications.
- Drilling under pressure possible: Allows connection without the need to shut off the water supply in the network.
- Safety: Compliance with PN10 standard ensures safe operation of the water supply installation.
- Efficiency: Cutter diameter of 34 mm allows for efficient creation of holes in pipes up to 15 mm thick.
Important operational features
The tapping saddle is designed to operate at a nominal pressure of PN10 and a working temperature in the range of 0-40°C. The working pressure is 10 bar, and the permissible (PMA) – 12 bar. It is important to maintain a maximum water velocity of 3 m/s and to observe the maximum torque of 15 Nm during drilling. The maximum torque when cutting the hole is 50Nm. These parameters guarantee safe and effective operation of the device, and also minimize the risk of damage to the pipeline.
