This 18 V lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 4.0 Ah has been designed for professional applications where efficiency and reliability are key. Thanks to Li-Ion technology, the cells do not exhibit a memory effect, allowing for recharging at any time without fear of shortening the battery's lifespan. The lack of significant self-discharge ensures the tool is ready for work even after a long period of downtime. Compared to smaller models (e.g., 3.0 Ah), this module offers up to 65% longer runtime on a single charge, which in practice translates to fewer downtimes during the working day.

CoolPack technology and protection systems

A key structural element is the CoolPack housing, which not only protects the interior from mechanical damage but, above all, effectively dissipates heat from the cells to the outside. This design allows for extending the battery's lifespan by up to 100% compared to standard housings without a cooling system. Inside, there is an advanced Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) system that monitors the cell status and automatically cuts off power in the event of deep discharge or interruption of the charging process. This helps you avoid permanent chemical damage to the cells. Additionally, the built-in NTC temperature sensor allows charging only within a safe range from 0°C to 45°C, which is crucial for maintaining parameter stability in difficult environmental conditions.

Ergonomics and system compatibility

Despite the higher capacity, the battery maintains compact dimensions (approx. 114 x 74 x 56 mm) and a low weight of just 0.6 kg. This power-to-weight ratio ensures better tool balance and reduces operator fatigue when working overhead or in hard-to-reach places. The construction is resistant to drops from heights of up to 3 meters onto concrete, making it ideal for dynamic construction environments. The device is fully compatible with all Bosch Professional power tools from the blue series (18 V) and chargers of this system, and also works with the AMPShare platform.

To maintain maximum parameters, it is recommended to perform so-called formatting during the first use – charging and discharging the battery fully three times allows the electronic system to precisely calibrate the energy level indicator. In case of long-term storage (e.g., off-season), it is best to bring the battery to a charge state between 50% and 70% of its capacity and store it at room temperature (range from 0°C to 50°C).
