90° Double-Socket Elbow for Press-Fit Systems
The elbow is manufactured from electrolytically galvanized carbon steel, designed for press-fit connections with an outer diameter of 28 mm. Both ends feature identical construction – compression sockets – enabling symmetrical installation within circuits. All contact surfaces are galvanized, ensuring corrosion resistance in humid conditions, such as heating or cooling installations.
The fitting has a fixed length of 58 mm and a 90° bend angle, allowing smooth flow direction changes without sharp edges, thereby reducing hydrodynamic resistance. It includes a stop flange – an additional internal structure that maintains connection stability during pressing and prevents pipe slippage.
The seal made of EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene) is designed to exhibit slight leakage at pressures between 0.1 and 5 bar if the connection is improperly executed – i.e., before full pressing. This "leak before press" feature allows the installer to quickly identify incorrectly installed components without the need for a full hydraulic test.
The maximum working pressure is 16 bar at 20°C – sufficient for most heating and cooling systems in residential and commercial buildings. The permissible operating temperature is up to 110°C, making it compatible with condensing boilers and underfloor heating systems.
Both ends are made of alloy steel – the same as in standard EN 10305-4 pipes – eliminating risks related to differences in thermal expansion coefficients or adhesion issues during pressing. It contains no additional components: no air vents, drain valves, or blind caps. It is a one-piece unit with no screws or threads.
It does not carry UL, FM, ULC, or LPCB certifications; however, it meets technical requirements for galvanized steel pipe systems used in Europe.
