Application and installation

The 76 × 2.0 mm steel pipe is intended for internal, pressure‑rated heating and cooling installations where resistance to high temperatures and pressure is required. Installation is carried out by press‑fitting – “B Press Carbon” fittings are clamped with special M‑profile jaws, providing a leak‑tight joint without the use of fire. Sealing is ensured by an EPDM ring, resistant to temperatures from –35 °C to 110 °C. For operating conditions above 110 °C, an alternative FKM ring can be used.

Construction and durability

Made of thin‑walled carbon steel (material number 1.0034), it complies with PN-EN 10305-3. The external zinc layer, applied by electro‑galvanizing, is 8–15 µm thick and additionally passivated with chromium – this provides effective corrosion protection in humid environments without the need for additional painting. The inner surface is not galvanized – the pipe is not intended for drinking‑water conveyance. A wall thickness of 2 mm guarantees adequate rigidity while maintaining a low unit weight (≈ 3.66 kg/m).

Operating conditions and compliance

Operates at a maximum pressure of 16 bar (1600 kPa / 232 psi) and temperatures from –35 °C to 110 °C – suitable for heating and cooling systems using water as the heat‑transfer medium. Length of one pipe section: 6 m – optimal for transport and easy handling on site. The pipe is compatible with other components of the KAN‑therm Steel system and Press Carbon fittings. It is not suitable for gas installations or for the flow of aggressive chemical media.
