Reducer nipple GZ 54x2 - thin-walled galvanized carbon steel, crimped PC4243G0541600
Simple adapter with crimpable socket and gas thread
Fitting made of electrolytically galvanized carbon steel, designed for crimped connections on one end and threaded on the other. The 54 mm crimp socket is used to connect a crimped pipe — the process requires a specialized tool but does not require welding, threading, or opening the installation. On the opposite side, there is an external BSPT-R thread (ISO 7-1), standard for gas installations, with a nominal diameter of 2 inches (50 mm).
The stop collar on the crimp socket ensures precise pipe insertion and holds it in position during crimping — eliminating the risk of misalignment and incomplete connection. The surface treatment of both ends is identical: galvanic zinc plating, which protects against corrosion in humid conditions but does not replace the need for proper installation.
There are no traditional gaskets — tightness is ensured by a flexible EPDM ring built into the socket recess. When crimped correctly, this ring deforms and creates a hermetic seal. In case of installation error — e.g., insufficient tool pressure — leakage may occur even before the pressure test: this is the so-called LBP (Leak Before Press) function, which acts as an additional quality control.
A visual crimping indicator (foil ring) is not present — the product does not include this feature. Installation correctness must be verified by the installer using the tool or after pressure tests.
The length of 94.5 mm ensures the fitting occupies minimal space — useful for installation in tight areas. The maximum working pressure of 16 bar at 20°C meets requirements for gas and heating installations. There are no UL, FM, or ULC certifications — it is not intended for systems requiring these standards (e.g., American systems).
Installation is single-use: after crimping, the connection cannot be disassembled without damaging the component. This is both an advantage (durability) and a limitation (error = replacement). There is no drain valve, air vent, or blind cap — this is a pure adapter.
For the installer: simplicity and safety
No welding required. No threading required. No open flame needed — reducing fire risk and the need to report work in areas subject to fire safety regulations. Installation is faster than traditional methods, and errors are easier to detect thanks to the LBP characteristic: if the connection is not tight even before the pressure test — it indicates something went wrong.
Product weight is 0.39 kg — lightweight yet solid. It does not need to be held under load during work like thick copper or steel pipes. Height and width are compatible with typical installation spaces.
For the end user: durability without maintenance
After proper installation, the connection requires no inspection for years. Zinc plating protects the steel from rust even in humid rooms — e.g., kitchens or basements. A pressure of 16 bar is more than sufficient for most domestic gas or heating installations.
There are no moving parts or gaskets to replace — if everything was done correctly at the start, the system operates without intervention throughout the entire life of the installation.
