Combined switches – protection and convenience in one device

This 6kA combined switch is a reliable solution for protecting electrical installations against overload and short circuit, and also provides protection for people against electric shock. The device combines the functions of a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) and a residual current device (RCD), allowing for compact and effective circuit protection. The switch is characterized by a rated current of 16A and a B characteristic, which means it is ideal for protecting lighting circuits, socket circuits and other devices with moderate inrush current. The B characteristic allows it to react more slowly to short current surges, so it tolerates starting devices with a motor well. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity of 6kA guarantees effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a serious failure. Additionally, the presence of a disconnected N pole simultaneously with the phase increases safety.

Construction features and application

The switch has been designed for easy mounting on a DIN rail (width 2 modules). Its installation depth is 69.5 mm, allowing installation even in shallow distribution boards. The degree of protection IP20 provides protection against accidental contact, but does not protect against the effects of water or dust – therefore, the device should be mounted in a protective housing. The cross-section of the connected multi-wire and solid-core cable up to 25 mm² gives great freedom in choosing the power supply cables.
