This Eaton HNB-C16/1N/003 combined switch is a key element ensuring protection against the effects of short circuits, overloads and electric shock. The device combines the functions of an overcurrent and residual current circuit breaker, offering comprehensive protection for electrical circuits in residential and commercial buildings. Designed to operate at 230V, it is characterized by high efficiency and easy mounting on a DIN TH-35 rail.

Functionality and technical parameters

This switch has 1+N polarity, meaning it protects one phase and neutral pole. Its C characteristic provides delayed tripping during short-term overloads, which is particularly important when connecting devices with motors or other loads with high inrush current – it will not cause unnecessary disconnection of the circuit when the device is starting up. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity of 6kA guarantees effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a serious failure. Additionally, the built-in residual current circuit breaker with a sensitivity of 0.03A provides protection against electric shock. Thanks to this solution, the installation is effectively protected against the effects of short circuits and overloads, and users – against electric shock.

The structural solutions used, such as double terminals (lift/busbar), facilitate the connection of wires of different thicknesses and types. The contact position indicator allows for quick visual control of the device status – red color indicates the need for intervention, and green confirms correct operation.

Installation and operation

The HNB-C16/1N/003 switch is designed for mounting on a standard DIN TH-35 rail, ensuring quick and easy installation in the distribution board. Lift and busbar terminals allow for flexible connection of wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm². The device requires regular testing (recommended every 6 months) using the "T" test button to ensure its proper operation. Thanks to its compact dimensions (2 module width), it allows for optimal use of space in the distribution board. The IP20 degree of protection provides protection against accidental contact, but does not protect against the effects of water. The ambient operating temperature is in the range of -25°C to +40°C.
