Universal enclosures for industrial applications and power distribution

Eaton's CS enclosures are versatile solutions for protecting and organizing electrical installations. Made of durable steel, they provide reliable protection of components in demanding industrial conditions and also perform well as distribution boards in power distribution. Thanks to a wide range of available sizes, from compact to large cabinets, they can be adapted to diverse needs.

Design and characteristic features

CS enclosures are distinguished by a solid construction made of steel sheet with a thickness depending on the size, guaranteeing high resistance to mechanical damage (IK10). Precisely applied polyurethane gasket ensures IP66 tightness, protecting against the influence of water, oils and contaminants. Doors opening at a 120° angle with the possibility of transferring to the left or right side facilitate access to the inside of the enclosure during installation and maintenance. The set includes a lock with a double-bit key, increasing the level of security. Additionally, special hinge pins allow for quick change of the door opening side without the need for tools.

The enclosure is supplied with a mounting plate, simplifying the installation of devices. The solid mounting plate is made of galvanized steel with a thickness of 2-3 mm. Internal door profiles with holes in a 25 mm raster facilitate the mounting of DIN rails and cable routing. CS enclosures are powder coated in RAL 7035 color, providing durable corrosion protection.

Applications and compliance with standards

CS enclosures are used as:

• Distribution boards for low-voltage power distribution
• Protective covers against direct contact with live parts
• Protection of devices in environments with high dust and risk of flooding
• Enclosures for machines and industrial equipment

The enclosure design complies with IEC/EN 62208 standard, confirming their suitability in switchgear assemblies according to IEC/EN 61439-2. They also meet the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), although the execution is not compliant with the EMC Directive. The maximum load on the door is 250 N, on the entire enclosure – 2750 N, and on the mounting plate – 2500 N. Heat dissipation (Delta T = 20 K) is 55 W.
