Remote drive NZM4-XR208-240AC 266685
Remote drive for NZM4 and N(S)4 circuit breakers
Motorized drive with control voltage 208–240 V AC, suitable for both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, enables remote switching on and off of power circuit breakers without physical access to the device. It operates via a pulse or continuous signal — simply apply voltage to the terminals for the breaker to change state.
On‑site manual control remains available — the drive does not block the manual mechanism, which is important during faults or maintenance. Closing to position “0” is performed by three lever latches 4–8 mm thick, allowing a physical lock in the off position, e.g., during service work.
It cannot be combined with mechanical interlocking — this limitation stems from the design and must be considered when designing the protection scheme. The drive is compatible only with breakers of the NZM4(-4) and N(S)4(-4) series and does not work with other sizes or models.
Dimensions (189 × 202 × 210 mm) and weight (6.1 kg) indicate a solid industrial construction — it is not a lightweight accessory for domestic installation. Connection terminals accept wires of 0.75–2.5 mm² (18–14 AWG) with insulated ends, matching standard medium‑power installation requirements.
Operation time: closing takes 100 ms, opening 3 s. This means the drive is not intended for rapid cycles — maximum 20 operations per hour. Higher frequencies may cause overheating or wear of the mechanism.
Requires a stable voltage in the range 0.85–1.1 × Us (≈ 177–264 V). Voltages below 208 V or surges above 240 V may prevent operation — there is no built‑in low‑voltage protection.
Conforms to IEC 60947 and UL 489 — meets requirements for switchgear in industrial and commercial installations. CSA and CE certifications confirm its use in Europe and North America.
Note: this is not a standalone device — it functions only as part of a system. Its effectiveness depends on correct installation and compatibility with the main circuit breaker.
