Overload relay – reliable motor protection

This overload relay, designed to work with Eaton DILM17…38 series contactors, is a key element in protecting electric motors from the effects of overloads. The device not only provides protection against damage but also increases the lifespan of connected devices. Direct mounting on the contactor or on a dedicated base simplifies installation and integration with existing systems.

Functionality and application

The ZB32-4 relay is designed for demanding industrial applications. Its task is to monitor the current flowing through the motor and disconnect the circuit in the event of an overload or phase failure – in accordance with IEC/EN 60947 and VDE0660 T.102 standards. The current setting range from 2.4 to 4A allows for precise adjustment to the characteristics of the protected motor. Automatic reset with manual reset option (reset button) ensures quick restoration of operation after removing the cause of the overload. A built-in auxiliary contact as standard simplifies the construction of control and signaling circuits.

Construction and characteristic features

The device is characterized by a solid construction and high reliability. Screw connection of the main contacts guarantees secure and durable electrical connections. Protection class IP20 provides protection against accidental contact in accordance with EN50274 with vertical operation from the front, which increases safety. The relay is adapted to work in harsh industrial conditions and also has marine approvals, which confirms its high quality and compliance with demanding standards. Release class 10A means that the relay reacts quickly and effectively to overloads, minimizing the risk of motor damage. It has one normally closed auxiliary contact and one normally open contact, providing flexibility in the construction of control circuits.
