Power contactor for controlling motors and inductive loads

This three-pole DILM12-10 power contactor from Eaton is a reliable solution for frequent switching of electrical circuits, especially in industrial applications. Designed to operate at 400V AC, it allows you to control motors up to 5.5 kW. It finds wide application in machine construction, production lines, switchboards and control panels.

Design and characteristic features

The DILM12-10 contactor is distinguished by its compact design and high quality of workmanship. It is equipped with one built-in NO auxiliary contact, which can be used for self-holding circuits or status signaling. It is available with spring-loaded terminals, which significantly speed up the wiring process – by up to 50% compared to traditional screw terminals. Spring-loaded terminals also provide high resistance to vibration and shock, minimizing the risk of loosening connections and increasing resistance. Compatibility with accessories used with screw terminals is an additional advantage.

Operating parameters and application

This contactor is designed to operate in AC-3 (asynchronous squirrel-cage motor starting) and AC-4 (motor control with mechanical load) categories. The rated operating current for AC-3 is 12A at 400V, and for AC-1 – 22A. It can operate at a rated voltage from 24V to 690V AC (50/60 Hz), providing a wide range of applications. The rated power at AC-4 is 3kW at 7A. The control voltage is 230V AC (50Hz) or 240V AC (60Hz).

The rated operating power AC-3 at 400 V is 5.5 kW, the rated operating current Ie for AC-3 at 400 V is 12 A, and for AC-1 at 400 V – 22 A. The control voltage Us is from 230 V to 230 V for AC 50 Hz and from 240 V to 240 V for AC 60 Hz. The contactor has three main normally closed contacts and one auxiliary normally open contact.

Safety and compliance

DILM contactors meet high safety standards and have appropriate CE/CCC/UL/CSA certificates, allowing them to be used as UL type E starters. The device is adapted for mounting on a mounting plate or 35 mm rail (up to 72A power). The design provides protection against accidental contact according to VDE 0160 part 100.
