Lightning Protection – Isolated Mast on a Quadruped

This isolated mast, mounted on a quadruped, is a key element of the lightning protection system. It serves to protect roof elements and external devices – skylights, air conditioners, ventilation units, or ventilation ducts – from the effects of direct and indirect lightning strikes. It is particularly useful where direct connection to down conductors is difficult or impossible.

This mast is designed to work in high-level horizontal down conductor systems using Aldrey wire. Its construction allows for effective discharge of lightning current to the ground, minimizing the risk of damage and ensuring the safety of the installation and people in the building. Made of durable aluminum and equipped with an insulated rod (1m long), it allows maintaining the appropriate distance from protected devices, meeting the requirements for insulation clearances. The quadruped made of stainless steel ensures the stability and durability of the structure.

Construction and application

This mast finds application both in new lightning protection installations and in the modernization of existing systems. Its versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of building objects. The distance between individual masts connected by Aldrey wire should not exceed 10 meters, which allows for optimal distribution of the protection zone. The set includes a lightning arrester for the grounding wire, which facilitates installation and ensures a correct electrical connection.

It is important to remember the need to use appropriate pads under concrete foundations (ordered separately – 44408208) and pads dedicated to a specific type of roofing (94308222 for roofing felt, 94308221 for membranes). The set includes a mast shaft, a quadruped with bases, and a mounting kit. The dimensions of the mast when unfolded are 3000 x 1820 x 1820 mm.
