Knife fuse links – reliable installation protection

Knife fuse links NH are a proven element of electrical protection, protecting against the effects of short circuits and overloads. The design and electrical parameters of these fuse links comply with PN-93/E-06160 (gF), PN-IEC-269 and VDE 0636 standards, which guarantees their reliable operation in various conditions. Model NH2C gG 100A/400V, thanks to the gG characteristic, provides wide-range protection for conductors, corresponding to the former time-delay fuses.

Design and characteristic features

The NH2C gG 100A/400V fuse link has been designed with durability and functionality in mind. The steatite body provides thermal stability, and the silver-plated brass knife contacts guarantee good electrical contact. The aluminum covers protect against corrosion, and filling the body with specially granulated quartz sand increases the short-circuit switching capacity to 120 kA and stabilizes the electrical parameters.

• Double tripping indicator: a combination of a red eye on the ceramic body and a springy plate on the cover facilitates quick identification of a blown fuse.
• Cooperation with a microswitch: the indicator on the top cover allows connection of an NVS 5 microswitch for remote signaling of fuse operation.
• Easy installation: the shape of the contact knives facilitates mounting in a fuse base or fuse disconnector.
• Safety of use: insulated handles (NH…/I…) are available to provide additional protection against contact with live parts.

Application and parameters

The NH2C gG 100A/400V fuse link is designed to protect AC installations with a rated voltage of 400V and a rated current of 100A. Thanks to the time-delay characteristic (gG), it copes well with short-term current surges, such as starting electric motors, while providing effective protection against overloads and short circuits. The total Joule integral of switching is 103300 A²s, and the pre-arcing 20000 A²s, which proves the high energy efficiency of the device. Power losses are 7.6 W. It is worth noting the lack of metal insulated clips (IMGL).
