Knife fuse links NH are industrial devices designed to protect electrical installations against the effects of short circuits and overloads. Characteristics and application
The NH2C gG 250A/400V fuse link is characterized by a rated current of 250A and a rated voltage of 400V AC. The “gG” designation indicates its versatility – it is suitable for protecting cables against overloads and short circuits. The time-delay characteristic (g) allows for short-term exceeding of the rated current without disconnection, which is particularly important when starting devices with motors or other pulsed loads. This minimizes the risk of unnecessary circuit tripping during normal operation.
Construction and additional functions
The fuse link is made of high-quality materials: a steatite body (thermally stable material), silver-plated brass knife contacts and an aluminum cover – which ensures corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. Filling the body with quartz sand of a special granulation increases the short-circuit breaking capacity to 120kA and stabilizes the electrical parameters. It is equipped with a double tripping indicator – a red eye on the ceramic body and a springy plate on the cover, which facilitates quick identification of a blown fuse. Additionally, the indicator on the top cover enables cooperation with the NVS 5 microswitch for remote tripping signaling, which is particularly useful in automatic control and monitoring systems.
