Knife fuse links – reliable installation protection

Knife fuse links are a fundamental element in protecting electrical installations from the effects of short circuits and overloads. The offered model NH2C gG 80A/400V, characterized by a rated current of 80A and a voltage of 400V, provides effective protection in demanding industrial applications. The fuse link design complies with the standards PN-93/E-06160 (gF), PN-IEC-269 and VDE 0636, which guarantees its reliability and safety of use.

Construction and characteristic features

The fuse link has been designed with durability and functionality in mind. The body made of steatite, a material with high thermal stability, provides resistance to extreme temperatures. The silver-plated brass knife contacts minimize electrical resistance and ensure a secure connection. The aluminum covers protect against corrosion, and the filling of the body with quartz sand of a special granulation increases the short-circuit breaking capacity to 120kA and stabilizes the electrical parameters.

Additionally, the fuse link is equipped with a double tripping indicator – a red eye in the central part of the ceramic body and a springy plate on the top cover. This solution ensures easy and quick identification of a blown fuse link, even remotely, thanks to the possibility of cooperation with the NVS 5 microswitch. The total Joule integral of switching is 53000 A²s, and the pre-arcing 8000 A²s, which proves high energy efficiency.

Its gG characteristic (general purpose) makes it ideal for protecting cables and devices with a time-current characteristic similar to traditional time-delay fuse links. Additionally, the possibility of using insulated handles (NH…/I…) increases safety during installation and maintenance. It is worth remembering the compatibility with fuse bases and fuse disconnectors equipped with microswitches for remote signaling of fuse link operation (in the case of fuse links with a NH.../K ejector).
