Medium voltage fuse links – reliable installation protection
VV fuse links are a proven protection element in medium voltage (MV) networks. Designed to protect cables, conductors, transformers, motors and capacitor banks from the effects of short circuits and overloads. The construction based on a high-strength ceramic tube and fuse elements made of silver guarantees reliable operation in demanding conditions.
Characteristics and application
VVC3 12kV/63A 442 fuse link is a component designed to protect electrical and power devices in MV networks. Its task is to protect against short-circuit currents – both thermal and dynamic. The breaking capacity at 63 kA ensures effective circuit interruption in the event of a failure. It is worth noting the rated current of 63A and the rated voltage of AC 6/12 kV, which determines the scope of its application.
Construction and benefits of use
The construction of the VV fuse link has been designed with durability and reliability in mind. Galvanically protected contacts and caps made of electrolytic copper coated with nickel (Ni) ensure corrosion resistance and stable electrical connections. The improved contact cap facilitates the replacement of the fuse link during maintenance or repair. In addition, the fuse link has a striker with a force of 50N, which indicates the operation of the protection and enables the activation of the power fuse disconnectors. A reliable sealing system protects against moisture, which extends the life of the device. The cold resistance (Rc) is 12 mΩ, and the power loss (Pn) is 62W. The minimum arc integral I²t min is 12000 A²s, and the maximum I²t max is 70000 A²s.
