Using a fuse link with a gG characteristic means that it reacts to overloads in a time-delayed manner, which avoids unnecessary tripping of circuits during short-term current surges – for example, when starting motors. The fuse link is equipped with a double indication of operation – a red eye on the ceramic body and a spring-loaded plate on the top cover. This solution (so-called KOMBI version) provides very good visibility of the fuse link's operating status both in fuse bases and in fuse disconnectors. Additionally, the upper indicator allows cooperation with the NVS 5 microswitch for remote signaling of operation. The body is made of durable steatite, and the knife contacts are silver-plated brass – this guarantees thermal stability and corrosion resistance.
