Knife fuse links – reliable installation protection
The NH2C gG 250A/500V fuse link is an element designed to protect electrical installations against the effects of overloads and short circuits. Its parameters and dimensions comply with PN-93/E-06160 (gF), PN-IEC-269 and VDE 0636 standards, which guarantees its reliability and safety. This is a proven component that will find application in both industrial installations and public buildings.
Construction and characteristic features
The fuse link is made of high-quality steatite – a material with thermal stability, which ensures its long-term operation even in difficult conditions. The knife contacts made of silver-plated brass minimize electrical resistance and provide a secure connection. Covers made of aluminum protect against corrosion, and the housing filled with quartz sand of a special granulation increases the short-circuit breaking capacity.
A special feature of this fuse link is the double tripping indicator – a red eyelet located in the central part of the ceramic body and a springy plate on the top cover. This solution ensures easy and quick visual identification of a blown fuse, both in fuse bases and in disconnectors. Additionally, the indicator on the top cover allows cooperation with the NVS 5 microswitch for remote tripping signaling.
Application and parameters
The NH2C gG 250A/500V fuse link is primarily used to protect conductors. It is characterized by a rated current of 250A and a rated voltage of 500V AC. Its time-delay characteristic gG makes it ideal for circuits with high starting current – it reacts more slowly to short current surges, therefore it tolerates the starting of devices with a motor well. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity is as high as 120kA, which guarantees effective protection of the installation against serious damage. The value of the I²t breaking integral is 812000 A²s, and the peak let-through current 191000 A²s - parameters indicating the high energy efficiency of the device during operation in short-circuit conditions.
This fuse link has been manufactured in accordance with IEC 60269-1 and IEC 60269-2 standards, which confirms its compliance with European safety and quality standards. It is a product of the renowned manufacturer ETI Polam, which further guarantees its reliability and durability.
