Fuse links – reliable installation protection
The NH2C gG 40A/500V fuse link is an element used to protect electrical installations from the effects of overloads and short circuits. Designed for both industrial applications and public buildings, it provides effective protection of wires and devices. Its construction, compliant with PN-93/E-06160 (gF), PN-IEC-269 and VDE 0636 standards, guarantees reliable operation and long life. This fuse link is particularly recommended where full-range protection is required – i.e. against both overloads and short circuits.
Construction and characteristic features
The NH2C gG 40A/500V is characterized by a solid construction. The body is made of high-quality steatite – a material with thermal stability, which ensures resistance to high temperatures generated during current flow. The knife contacts made of silver-plated brass minimize electrical resistance and ensure a secure connection. Aluminum covers protect against corrosion, and the body filled with quartz sand of a special granulation increases the short-circuit switching capacity to 120kA.
A key feature of this fuse link is a dual operating indicator – combined (red eye in the central part of the ceramic body and a springy plate on the top cover). This allows both the installer and the end user to easily determine whether the fuse link has blown. Additionally, the indicator on the top cover enables cooperation with the NVS 5 microswitch for remote signaling of operation.
Application and compliance with standards
The NH2C gG 40A/500V fuse link is used in circuits with a rated voltage of 500V AC and a rated current of 40A. It is designed to protect electrical wires, and its gG characteristic (time-delay) allows for short-term overloads without unnecessary tripping of the circuit – which is particularly important when starting devices with electric motors or other elements generating high starting current.
It meets the requirements of IEC 60269-1 and IEC 60269-2 standards, which confirms its safety and reliability. Production in the EU also guarantees high quality and compliance with European standards.
