Power factor correction capacitors – a reliable solution for your installation

LPC capacitors are components used for effective reactive power compensation in electrical installations. They find application both in individual loads (transformers, motors, rectifiers, lighting) and in automatic capacitor bank systems. They are used wherever power factor improvement and energy loss reduction are needed.

Design and characteristic features

LPC capacitors are based on metallized polypropylene film technology, providing low losses and self-healing capability. Filled with environmentally friendly polypropylene resin, they effectively dissipate heat, which translates to long life and stable operation. The aluminum housing protects against mechanical damage and ensures safe use. The capacitors are equipped with overpressure disconnectors, which protect the capacitor bank from serious failures in the event of overloads or surges.

Safety and compliance with standards

Safety of use is a priority. LPC capacitors have discharge resistors that reduce the voltage at the terminals to a safe level (75V) within a maximum of 3 minutes after disconnection from the power supply. Compliance with standards PN-EN-61048, PN-EN-60252 and EN-60831-1/2 guarantees high quality and reliability of the product. In addition, the use of high-quality polypropylene film provides resistance to breakdown and self-healing capability – even in the event of an electric arc, the insulation is repaired and the capacitor can continue to operate with a minimal capacitance drop (approx. 100 pF).

Installation and application

LPC capacitors are available in various voltage configurations (400V, 440V, 460V, 480V, 525V) and rated powers (from 1 to 50 kVAr), allowing them to be adapted to individual installation needs. Installation can be carried out both in a vertical and horizontal position (horizontal mounting is recommended with additional support). Capacitors with a power of up to 5kVAr have connector connections, and higher powers – screw terminals for easy and safe connection. This makes the installation simple and intuitive for both professionals and people with experience in working with electrical installations.
